In this first video, I provide an overview of the foundational model that underpins Create or Perish.
The model is engaged with as a daily touchstone in our journal, keeping the lifeblood flowing in our system, and ensuring that it doesn’t become just another cumbersome tool that we throw in the recycling bin.
The synergy between the Creative Integrity Model and the system itself has evolved through my own process of wrestling with and ultimately mastering my own self-defeating behavior and addiction to procrastination and perfectionism.
It is a holistic and living system that is tested daily against the subversive will of my own resistance, ADHD, and old patterns of avoidance and fear of putting myself out there.
What is being presented here is much more than a collection of clever ideas. It is a holistic, battle-tested approach to creative work that is firmly rooted in first principles, and that is now ready for its next phase of development - collaborative group dynamics within a Circle community.
My sense is that you will either resonate strongly with the first principles presented here, or you will find them to be wishy washy and wrongheaded.

Model overview
Note - a significant portion of the frameworks in this model have been adapted from those in the NCI program developed by Chase Hughes. They have evolved significantly over time as I have incorporated them into my own life and into this program. The frameworks are presented here as they have evolved to serve this program, and are wholly independent of the official NCI curriculum.
The Creative Integrity Model is comprised of four frameworks arranged in the shape of a pyramid. The first two frameworks in particular are reconstructed daily from the ground up in our journal as a ritual touchstone.
At the base lies the Zones of Mastery framework. Then, in the center, the spine of the model that brings us upright is the Axis of Authority. To the left is the Hierarchy of Influence, and to the right is the Flywheel of Creativity framework, aka iDROPShip.
